Your Ideal Body
An Introduction to Your Ideal Body Program
Eight years ago I made a promise to myself to get off the diet industry band wagon. I vowed that I was never going to follow another weight loss diet, take another weight loss wonder slimming product or listen to anyone promising me a quick and painless solution to my weight problem.
I decided that I was going to find out how fat metabolism works in the body, which hormones are involved in regulating fat deposition and what the true physical components were behind weight gain. I knew that the calories in versus calories out theory was just incorrect.
I was already eating a ‘clean’ diet without artificial and processed foods, drinking lots of water daily, exercising up to six or seven times a week and still I had a weight problem. There had to be something more.
I knew that I had to extend my search for answers beyond the physical.
To that end I’ve spent the last eight years researching, testing (on myself and others) and refining a way to effect not only weight loss but how I view food, my body, my outlook and my life.
I’ve discovered that being overweight is merely a symptom of so much more. It’s actually not about the weight but about the subconscious programs that keep us ‘protecting’ ourselves with an extra layer of fat just in case. For some of us it’s to protect ourselves from painful situations in our lives that we think we’ve resolved but that still linger in our physiology; for some of us it’s a strategy to know we’re loved regardless of what we look like; for some of us it’s a strategy to be visible, seen, noticed. The strategies are as individual as each one of us is.
First I thought it was all about the body. Then I thought it was all about the mind and now I’ve finally realized that it’s about both. Both need to be addressed in order to effect lasting change.
So yes, healthy eating is important, so is exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, managing stress and being well hydrated. It is about your life-style BUT your perceptions of pain and pleasure, where you prioritize your resources, what wounds you have in your past, who pushes your buttons and how connected our are with your purpose are just as important.
Your Ideal Body Program takes all of the above into account so that you not only lose weight but uncover your authentic self, feel inspired and learn tools that can be applied in any are of your life.
